Rose Hanbury has finally addressed the rumours surrounding her alleged involvement with Prince William.

As per Business Insider, Hanbury has vehemently denied the rumours, stating through her lawyers that they are entirely false.

Hanbury, 40, who is closely connected to Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, has recently gained attention due to Stephen Colbert discussing the affair rumours on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" last week.

The kingdom has been abuzz with speculation over Kate Middleton's apparent disappearance. According to Colbert, in Tuesday's episode, some internet sleuths speculate that Kate's absence could be connected to her husband, William, the future king of England, potentially having an affair.

Amid the speculation surrounding Middleton's recent absence from the public eye following her surgery earlier this year, the comedian took a jab at the ongoing rumours of William's alleged affair with Hanbury, which have been circulating since 2019.

Speculations and conspiracy theories about why the public has not seen Middleton in weeks have been circulating on social media. According to reports, employees at a farm near Windsor Castle claim to have spotted her.

William has chosen not to address inquiries regarding his wife's condition and recovery from her undisclosed medical issue, further fueling internet conspiracies. Furthermore, there was a significant issue regarding their UK Mother's Day photo featuring Kate and their three children. Photo agencies withdrew the photo, alleging it had been "manipulated."

However, according to Colbert, rumours are circulating that Middleton's recent absence from public view may be linked to her husband's alleged affair.

"Oh no, my sympathies are with poor Kate," Colbert expressed on his show.

We are all aware of the identity of the supposed other woman. Let us all say it together –– the Marchioness of Cholmondeley –– what a stunning name! He playfully mentioned Hanbury's formal royal title, "Chumley."

Hanbury has a long-standing connection to the royal family, spanning several generations. Lady Elizabeth Lambart's grandmother was one of the bridesmaids at Queen Elizabeth's and Prince Philip's wedding in 1947.

She has been married to David Rocksavage, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley, since 2009.

The couple resides at their family's Norfolk estate, Houghton Hall, which is conveniently located near Anmer Hall, the estate of William and Kate.

The Cholmondeleys are often seen attending the same events as William and Kate. They attended Elizabeth's state funeral and later witnessed King Charles III's coronation in May 2023.

Their 15-year-old son, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, had the honour of being one of the pages at the coronation alongside Prince George, the eldest child of William and Middleton.

They also have two other children: Alexander Hugh, and Iris Marina Aline.

Speculation surrounding the rumoured relationship between William and Hanbury first emerged in 2019 after In Touch magazine published the allegation.

There were rumours that Hanbury and Middleton were once close friends, but whether those claims were valid is unclear. Some sources suggest a falling out in 2019, but this has never been confirmed.

In 2022, a tip was posted by the Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi, suggesting that a British royal couple's alleged extramarital affair is widely known. This information was shared by Cosmopolitan, who provided a screenshot of the post.

Although the message did not explicitly mention which royal it was, royal enthusiasts inferred that it was William.

The attorney representing William strongly refuted the claim, stating that it was untrue and could have serious negative consequences.
