In Sunday's defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat Kohli was enraged after a new method applied to the ball tracking technology deemed him out on a full toss delivery that he believed went above his waist.

Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bangalore opener, had a significant impact on the match, scoring 18 runs from seven balls. However, his team's narrow defeat by just one run in the IPL match against Kolkata was largely influenced by his controversial dismissal.

Virat Kohli had walked out to strike the length delivered by Rana, but it caught him on the back foot. He played it straight back to the bowler, who saw it.

The umpire gestured for the decision to be reviewed as he was not sure the ball was too high to be a legitimate delivery.

The technology revealed that the ball was at waist level when Kohli played with it, but now it was found to be dipping before reaching the stumps. The estimated height of the ball in the crease was then compared with the height of the waist measured beforehand during the batter.

The ball did not go higher than Kohli's waist level, so the third umpire dismissed it. After this decision, the former Indian captain expressed frustration by shouting at the field umpire and the president before leaving the dugout.

Faf Du Plessis explained that he and Virat believed the ball was above waist height during Kohli's dismissal.

Bengaluru has lost six and is at the bottom of the IPL ladder. They will play Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
