At the Islami Bank Bangladesh (IBBL) offices, there have been fights between two groups of officers. At one point, there were gunshots, which hurt some of them.

Witnesses and bank sources say the old officers said they would not let their new coworkers who started working there after 2017 in. Most of the new police cops are from Patiya in Chattogram.

At about 10:30 a.m., the new cops met in the area and tried to break into the offices. After the old ones stopped the attempt, there was a land war between the two sides, and shots were fired.

The older cops said that the officers from Patiya started fire during the fights.

Following the recent political changes, the bank has been in turmoil. The day after the fall of the Awami League government, the officers staged a protest at the offices, voicing their opposition to the new trainees and their hiring process.

Anisur Rahman, a CBA leader at the bank, said that all hirings since 2017 without any tests would be canceled, and the hired people would not be able to enter the bank.

People who lost their jobs or were not allowed to work during the period will get them back or be paid back.

In 2017, the bank underwent a significant change when it was taken over by S Alam, a prominent business group based in Chattogram. This takeover marked the beginning of a new era for the bank.
