Two Thanchi banks robbed after Ruma

Criminals have stolen money from the Sonali Bank and Bangladesh Krishi Bank branches in Thanchi Upazila town.

 

According to Prothom Alo, The head of the Thanchi Sadar Union Parishad, Aung Pru Mro, said that the robbers got into the market area around 1:00 pm in three cars while firing from their guns. Then they went into Sonali Bank and Bangladesh Krishi Bank, next to Thanchi High School, and took the money they got.

 

Wednesday around 1:00 pm, someone tried to rob the state-owned bank, according to Afzal Karim, the bank's managing director.

 

In an interview today, he said they had heard of an attack at the Sonali Bank store in Thanchi. Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members, and soldiers have all gone to the scene.

 

Members of the new terrorist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) broke into the Sonali Bank branch in Ruma, Bandarban, around 9 pm Tuesday and stole over Tk 15 million and 14 guns.

 

A witness who asked to remain anonymous said that the terrorists stole 14 guns from the Ansar members who were guarding the bank and took Nizam Uddin, who is the head of the Ruma Upazila office of Sonali Bank, from the mosque during Taraweeh prayers.

 

After the theft at the Ruma branch, M. Osman Gani, regional head of Sonali Bank (Bandarban region), updated on Tuesday night that all the banks in that region have made their security stronger.

 

Aung Pru Mro, head of the Thanchi Sadar Union Parishad, said the thieves drove the three cars they found towards Shahjahanpur.
