The prime minister delivered these statements during the National Fisheries Week-2024 opening ceremony at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).

According to the Prime Minister, a commission led by a High Court justice has been established to investigate the incidents.
She stated, "Today, two additional members have been ordered to join the investigation to broaden its scope."
She called on the nation to uncover the perpetrators of the violence.
"The citizens must uncover the individuals responsible for orchestrating this incident, which aims to hinder the progress of our nation," she stated.
The prime minister highlighted the recurring obstacles faced by Bangladesh's progress, which she attributed to the actions of collaborators of the Pakistani occupation forces.

In a show of appreciation for their remarkable contributions to the nation's fisheries sector, the prime minister bestowed the prestigious National Fisheries Medal upon 22 individuals and organizations. This commendable recognition included the presentation of six gold medals, eight silver medals, and eight bronze medals, accompanied by certificates.
A total of 22 individuals were honored with medals, comprising 15 farm owners, two fisheries officers, a project director, a university teacher, an association leader, a project, and a committee.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman, Chairman of the ministry's Parliamentary Standing Committee SM Rezaul Karim, and Secretary Sayeed Mahmood Belal Haider participated in the event and shared their thoughts and insights.
Syed Md Alamgir, the Director General of the Department of Fisheries, presided over the award distribution ceremony, which featured an informative audio-visual documentary showcasing the government's achievements and advancements in the fisheries sector.
This year's National Fisheries Week has the theme "Nirapad Mache Bhorbo Desh, Garbo Smart Bangladesh," it will run until August 5, encompassing a week of activities and events.
