Despite the former president's near-sweep on Super Tuesday, Joe Biden's re-election team is arguing why Donald Trump is "a wounded, dangerous, and unpopular candidate," stating in a new memo: "We know exactly how to win."
The email, which was signed by Julie Chavez Rodriguez, the campaign manager, and Biden campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon, said that Nikki Haley's tenacity during the GOP primary thus far is unmistakable proof that Trump will not be able to win over a majority of typically GOP supporters.
According to the document, "a significant portion of moderate and Haley voters nationwide are saying that Trump cannot count on their votes in a general election."
In the email, O'Malley Dillon and Chavez Rodriguez stated that the Biden team will "aggressively engage" these individuals as the general election draws near.
The document also downplays several alarming polling results for the president-elect.
Over the weekend, the New York Times released a new survey in which Biden was trailing Trump, 48%–43%, but 10% of voters were unsure, a statistic the team claims indicates potential for Biden.
Based on the document, the upcoming general election in November is expected to be a closely contested battle, much like previous presidential elections.
