Inter Miami's impressive streak of five consecutive victories was halted on Wednesday when they faced a tough challenge against Orlando City. Despite missing the influential presence of the injured Lionel Messi, Inter Miami managed to secure a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

Messi's presence was crucial in all five of those victories for the MLS league leaders, but unfortunately, he was unable to participate in the game in Orlando due to a knee injury.

According to reports, Miami has assured fans that Messi's injury is not a cause for concern. Despite participating in recent training sessions, the club made the decision to rest him for the midweek fixture.

Luis Suarez, Messi's former Barcelona team-mate, entered the midweek round of games as one of the league's top scorers with 11 goals. He started the game and had some early chances.

The Uruguayan player had a great opportunity at the back post, but unfortunately, his shot lacked the necessary power and was easily handled by Orlando's Peruvian international custodian, Pedro Gallese.

Paraguayan Matias Rojas and Suarez showcased their excellent teamwork as they linked up to create an opportunity for Robert Taylor. However, the Finnish winger's shot was unfortunately blocked.

As the game progressed, Orlando showed significant improvement, putting pressure on Miami's custodian, Drake Callender. Callender showcased his skills by making a remarkable save to deny Martin Ojeda's powerful shot, which came after an impressive turn by the Argentine on the edge of the box.

Following a powerful strike from Colombian Luis Muriel, Calendar was put to the test. However, both defences quickly gained control of the game.

During the second half, Orlando had a prime opportunity to score when Facundo Torres passed the ball to Muriel. However, the former Atalanta winger hesitated and was ultimately dispossessed inside the box.

In the final moments of the game, Orlando made a determined effort to secure a victory. However, their hopes were dashed when Japanese substitute Yutaro Tsukada missed a golden opportunity, sending his shot soaring over the crossbar.
