Former MP Haji Salim arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police captured Haji Mohammad Salim, a former Awami League (Dhaka-7) member, early Monday morning in the Bangshal area of Dhaka, the officials said.

 

Md Rabiul Hossain Bhuiyan, a joint commissioner of the DMP (DB-North), revealed the information. He said that a Detective Branch team was informed about him and nabbed him during a drive in the Bangshal area at 1:30 a.m.

 

He said he is being charged in several cases at different police stations.

 

In 2022, a court in Dhaka jailed him because he was accused of getting rich without any known sources of income.
