Foreign ministry may take steps to bring Hasina back if law ministry requests

According to BSS, Md Touhid Hossain, the interim government foreign affairs adviser, has stated that the foreign ministry will initiate actions to repatriate Sheikh Hasina if the law ministry requests it.

 

He remarked during his inaugural press briefing at the foreign ministry on Sunday afternoon.

 

Touhid explained that the law ministry is responsible for the potential return of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina. The foreign ministry would only take action if it receives a request.

 

The government of Sheikh Hasina was overthrown in a massive uprising led by students on August 5th. She fled the country and sought refuge in India.

 

The foreign adviser emphasized that the new interim government is committed to cultivating positive relationships with all nations while safeguarding Bangladesh's interests.

 

"Our policy is centered around fostering positive relationships with all nations while safeguarding our national interests." Touhid Hossain emphasized fostering friendly relationships with all nations while avoiding conflicts. He expressed the goal of establishing a sense of balance in international relations.

 

The foreign ministry stressed the importance of maintaining transparency and honesty in their actions. "Our main objective is to protect our interests," he stated.

 

When questioned about the interim government's stance on international relations, Hossain reiterated their dedication to maintaining a balanced approach in diplomacy.

 

"There is no basis for assuming that this interim government has a singular focus in any particular direction. The speaker expressed their commitment to fostering solid and amicable relationships with various countries, including India and China.

 

Emphasizing the importance of the Bangladesh-India relationship, Hossain pointed out the strong and profound bond between the two countries.

 

Emphasizing the significance of cultivating public perception, he highlighted India's role as a strong ally of Bangladesh.

 

"Ensuring a strong bond between India and Bangladesh is paramount," he expressed. "We are eager to foster and enhance the Dhaka-Delhi relationship in this direction. We hope India will extend its cooperation in this matter," he stated.

 

Hossain emphasized the importance of meeting public expectations by producing concrete results from the relationship with India.

 

The individual recognized the assistance provided by international allies, emphasizing the alignment of their interests with our own.

 

The adviser emphasized the interim government's dedication to holding the responsible parties accountable for recent incidents and ensuring a fair and unbiased election.

 

Our primary goal is to ensure a fair and impartial election. "Speculation at this point is unnecessary," he stated, refraining from providing insight into the interim government's tenure.

 

Hossain shared that chief adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to meet with representatives from minority communities shortly about minority issues.

 

He voiced optimism about a notable improvement in the law and order situation within a week.
