Elon Musk will dismiss the lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman if they consent to rebrand their company as 'Closed AI'. The billionaire expressed on his social media platform X (previously known as Twitter) that if OpenAI were to alter its name to ClosedAI, he would withdraw the lawsuit. Subsequently, he further emphasized the need for OpenAI to cease engaging in deceptive practices. Elon Musk also modified a photograph of Sam Altman adorned with a guest ID card that showcased "ClosedAI" alongside OpenAI's logo.

The co-founder of OpenAI in 2015, Elon Musk, subsequently resigned from his position on the company's board in 2018.
OpenAI issued a collection of personal correspondences with Elon Musk, expressing in a blog post, "We are disheartened that this situation has arisen with an individual whom we hold in high regard -- someone who motivated us to strive for greater accomplishments, subsequently predicted our failure, initiated a rival and subsequently filed a lawsuit against us when we began making significant advancements towards OpenAI's mission without his collaboration."
According to the company's statement in 2017, it was acknowledged that a substantial amount of capital would be required to accomplish the organization. This additional capital, amounting to billions of dollars annually, exceeded the initial expectations of the non-profit organization, particularly Elon, at the time.
According to OpenAI, Elon Musk proposed aligning the company with Tesla as its primary source of revenue. However, the team declined this proposal, leading Elon Musk to subsequently depart from OpenAI. He expressed that the likelihood of achieving success was relatively low. Upon leaving in late February 2018, he said he endorsed our team's pursuit of independently generating billions of dollars.
