Chelsea borrows Sancho from Manchester United

IMG

Chelsea borrowers' winger Jadon Sancho from Manchester United until the end of the season.

Chelsea must sign the 24-year-old English player for between £20m and £25m as part of the deal next summer.

Sancho moved to United from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million in July 2021, but he has had a tough time at Old Trafford.

During the three full seasons, he played 83 times, but a public fight with boss Erik ten Hag kept him from working with the first team.

Sancho returned to Dortmund on loan in January and then returned to United in the summer. He has not been with the team for either of their Premier League games so far.

The last of his 23 England caps came in 2021. He had been passed over for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2024 Euros.

This deal is the best way to get Manchester United out of the wrong position.

The club's sporting director, Dan Ashworth, technical director, Jason Wilcox, and CEO, Omar Berrada, have had to figure out how to solve a big problem that was not their fault.

Erik ten Hag and Sancho had already fought before the three senior figures were put in place.

The tense agreement was reached to get Sancho back for pre-season training, and the club's tour of the United States was only temporary. It kept him fit, making finding another club to continue his career easier.

Even before his public fight with his boss, Sancho was different from what he said he would be for the Old Trafford club.

United is trying to make things different, and the additions of Alejandro Garnacho last season and Amad Diallo at the start of this season have given Ten Hag more choices in the wide spots, even without Marcus Rashford and Antony.

The move didn't work, which is a shame for everyone. After everything, this answer could be better, but it's the best way out.

'Sancho comes at a good price'

TGE Sports writer Pritom writes about football news:

If Chelsea wants to sign Sancho, the only question that will matter is "why."

Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer, Joao Felix, and Marc Guiu were involved in their attack.

However, they will say that Sancho is worth the price and that if given the chance to return to his best, he could become like Cole Palmer.

The club's office is full of people who used to work for Manchester City. Manager Enzo Maresca and influential recruitment expert Joe Shields are just two examples.

Chelsea also likes to sign players who played for them as kids, and Sancho, born in south London, fits that description.
