It has been reported that Alexei Navalny's mother has been barred from entering the building, and his bruised body has been spotted in a mortuary.
An unnamed source told an independent Russian newspaper that the critic of Vladimir Putin's body had been brought to a mortuary at the Salekhard District Clinical Hospital.
The unidentified source, who was recognised as a skilled paramedic, revealed to Novaya Gazeta Europe on Sunday that his body had been transported from the nearby town of Labytnangi and was bruised.
According to Mr Navalny's spokeswoman, Kira Yarmysh, on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, his mother, Lyudmila Navalnaya and his attorneys were not permitted entry into the mortuary. "One of the lawyers was literally pushed out," she stated.
She added that the mortuary staff would not respond to a question about the whereabouts of the opposition figure's body that was jailed.
It coincides with the accusation made by Mr Navalny's team that the police covered up his body on purpose to "cover traces" of what they believe to be an obvious murder.
Mr Navalny's wife, Vladimir Kara-Murza, told the BBC that after years of having an iron grip on the nation, the autocrat believes he is "untouchable," accusing him of killing her husband.
'We all know it was murder': Senior Tory blames Putin for Navalny's death.
Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Alicia Kearns alleges that Russian President Vladimir Putin was responsible for Alexei Navalny's death, describing it as "Murder". "Putin has attempted to kill Navalny on several occasions," she declared during the Munich Security Conference. "The goal is to put an end to the Russian people's dream of freedom, which he [Navalny] represented,"
David Cameron, the foreign secretary, has already promised that the UK will intervene and make Russia answerable for what transpired. The family of Navalny is now requesting the release of his corpse.
